Thunderbolts Take Over New Season of 'MARVEL SNAP'

MARVEL SNAP has a new season, but the lineup is looking a little different from your usual suspects...Move aside, it's time for the Thunderbolts to take over!

Thanos was right. Or maybe you consider Doctor Doom just a normal capitalist do-gooder? Look, we get it… The Green Goblin was just an adult being pestered by unruly teens. This season we celebrate what some might call “Villains,” but others might just say they are simply misunderstood.

SEASON PASS

Can this former leader of the Masters of Evil, write a new chapter for himself? True to his character, Baron Zemo’s ability allows him to recruit more characters to your team!

NEW CHARACTER: BARON ZEMO

Helmut Zemo carries on his family’s evil tradition of seeking power and influence no matter how many innocent lives get in his way.

Young Helmut Zemo witnessed his father Baron Heinrich Zemo’s wickedness first-hand during the dark days of World War II and remained loyal to him and his family’s reputation for evil. Heinrich left his son behind when the war ended and Germany surrendered to the Allies, but Helmut visited the insane Baron in his South American stronghold. He mourned his father when he died during a battle with Captain America, Heinrich’s sworn enemy.

The new Baron Zemo took up his father’s mantle and set out to avenge him by adopting the persona of the Phoenix to kill Captain America. Failing this, he accidentally fell into a vat of Heinrich’s infamous Adhesive X and emerged scarred for life. The Baron took to wearing a mask like Heinrich and set about showing the world the true face of evil.

Red Hulk

As a young man, Thaddeus Ross enlists in the military and receives his nickname from his troops because he "struck like a thunderbolt" when leading them into action. He rises the ranks to General and boasts a powerful hatred of Bruce Banner, AKA the Hulk, spending his career hunting the monster down. Now, he's the very thing he hates most in life: He is the Red Hulk.

U.S.Agent

Inspired by his military family members, John F. Walker becomes a proud patriot who wants nothing more than to be a hero. When Power Broker offers him enhanced strength, he takes it and becomes the heroic, albeit smug, U.S.Agent!

Red Guardian

Russian test pilot Alexei Shostakov joins the KGB as one of their intelligence agents. A patriot to his country through and through, he becomes the Red Guardian, Russia’s take on the United States’ Captain America.

White Widow

While dozens of heroes have followed this path, the transition from villain to hero isn't always a smooth process, and it certainly hasn't been for Yelena Belova. After going through the same tortuous training as Natasha Romanova, Yelena faced off against her fellow Black Widow, battled the Avengers, and led some of the most notorious criminal organizations in the Marvel Universe before deciding to take her destiny into her own hands—evolving from the villainous Black Widow into the White Widow.

Valentina

The woman who become known as Countess Valentina Allegra de Fontaine learned the intricacies of the spy world at a young age from her parents, and would later go on to become a formidable triple agent for international spy and terrorist organizations.

Contessa Valentina Allegra de Fontaine is the assumed name of a Russian woman whose parents served Leviathan, a secret terrorist network headquartered in Russia. During the Cold War, Leviathan gives her family the de Fontaine identities, and they relocate to Italy, posing as members in a local resistance effort against the communist USSR.

When Valentina’s parents are killed (apparently by Russian agents), Leviathan contacts her and offers her a place in their organization. After her parents’ funeral, Val adopts the persona of a European “jet-setter” until Timothy “Dum Dum” Dugan, of the newly formed spy agency S.H.I.E.L.D., approaches her. Having heard of her parents’ abilities, Dugan offers Val a place in the organization. Seizing the opportunity to spy on Leviathan’s behalf, Val accepts and becomes educated at the S.H.I.E.L.D. Manhattan UNIT Academy alongside Clay Quartermain and Sidney Levine. When S.H.I.E.L.D. Director Nick Fury Sr. visits the Academy for a sparring demonstration alongside Steve Rogers, AKA Captain America, Val tries to help Fury after an explosion stunned him. When Fury spurns Val’s aid, she flings him with a Judo toss, piquing his interest. She tells Nick that after her parents died, she found life meaningless, but if she could carry on in their place, their death wouldn’t be in vain, successfully establishing her cover story.
